Any benefit in a Dual Port NIC

well obviously you would have double the speed, you would have 2 connections to the network, so file tranfers would go 2 times as fast(if your HD could keep up). Other than that there really isnt much use, and of couse it would take 2 ports on your switch, and you would need a switch to make use of it, usuing it on a hub would be useless.
 
You would have the cable come to the router(of course) then you could connect both ports of your NIC to the router, and then you would have 2 times the speed when file tranfering to other computers on your network, internet would be the same beacuse then your connection is the bottleneck, and unless you have over 2 T3's you will never even come close to maxing out 1 10/100 port 🙂
