well i think it was car and driver thatw did a test on em. effectiveness scaled with price... sadly

why would you want a battery powered one? sure no wire..... but why would you want to worry about changing batteries. not only that but you have to remember to turn it on and off everytime you drive. mine is hooked up to my acc power so it turns on with the car and turns off with the car.

Why not just use those little plastic "crimp-connectors" aphex? They only break the insulation of wires to make contact, cutting and soldering isn't required :)

just hardwire the v1 into the map light, or rearview mirror power
