my dad works in the aerospace industry (specifically NASA and Airforce projects).
Personally I have seen 3 space launches from mission control and lots of other stuff.

Great Pics here

One of the VPs in the office flew B-52s for SAC. At one point he was going start and air cargo business and bought a surplus B-25 Mitchell. He once crash landed the plane after an engine failure. He had to send the turbos for overhaul and used 50 gallon drums (!!!!) to ship them back. he evntually sold the plan for $25,000. he's kicking himself now since a working B-25 is worth over $1M.

When the weather gets better we, going out in his stunt plane. he took my boss out once and pulled so many Gs that he bent a wing which needed to be replaced.

I am one of the original "rocket brats", from Redstone through Apollo. In 12 years of compulsory education I was in 11 different schools.
My father was part of the ARMY missle program, then Chrysler aerospace. We moved to Australia for 14 months to work on the Sparta project, little sister was born there. After that Dad went to work for McDonnel-Douglas during the Apollo project. We lived in Merrit Island, Fla. I've been in the VAB a half dozen times, at one of the launch pads, and in a crawler. I saw every Apollo launch live and in person.

I'm an Aerospace nut. I still get a charge out of going to the National Air/Space museum at the Smithsonian. I could spend a week in there.:)
