Any AutoCad guru's here?

What exactly is he doing? Does he work in 3D or mostly 2D? I use CAD daily and my X1800XT runs it quite nice. 90% of the muscle comes from a good CPU and plenty of ram.

I help out a guy (he's pretty non-technical, so it's been interesting learning the stuff 🙂) who uses Land Desktop 2004, and...the Quadro was a waste. Maybe get one, but as CCityInstaller said, RAM and CPU is where it's at, especially just having enough RAM. If budget is a major concern, a cheap dual-core should be good enough with 2+GB of RAM.

Drive performance doesn't really matter, either; but defragging fairly often (every few months) will help some (based on a Seagate 7200.9 160GB and 3GB of data, with over 135GB free).
