Found a good deal on a watch on woot.com... It's an Invicta Diver Pro for $70, normally $595. Maybe I'm just used to over priced goods, but I am always sketched when a deal seems too good to be true.

Any of you guys (or on the off chance you're a gal..) ever buy products from woot, specifically ones that are heavily discounted?

Yes, all the time. At least monthly. Most of the stuff is either garbage or hardly any price difference, but sometimes there are really good deals to be had.

They're owned by Amazon now, btw.

Woot sucks since being bought out by Amazon (I believe IIRC?). The only thing worthy anymore is BOC.

Yeah, they were a lot better before Amazon. You can tell even the goofy writing is trying too hard now :p

yes they were better

But they are not bad. I've bought all kinds of things from there. But I'm also not a complete moron, I research the price of what I'm looking at before I click. Its usually small stuff but I have bought computers, mice, keyboards, headphones...lots of things. I have never had a bad experience.

So Amazon bought woot.com and dpreview.com. Probably at some point Anandtech will sell out and become another tool to funnel hardware buyers to Amazon. Pretty soon all roads will lead to Amazon, I guess.

I used to before they sold out to Amazon.

Now it seems like all they have are dozens of crappy refurbished items on sale all the time instead of a few good items with big discounts like they used to.

happens all the time. Companies go wide instead of deep. And its never a good thing for the consumer.

I figure for $70 I can take a risk. Most things I don't "cheap" out on.. But I figure the fact this is a fairly popular brand and offering a 1yr warranty...It's justified.

If you ever see someone who paid full price for one of those watches, punch them in the face. They are always getting put on sale on Woot or Amazon or some other deal site. I have no experience with their quality but they do look pretty.

at $70 you wont do any better, at full price there are much better quality out there.
