any atoters have a whole house humidifer?

anyone have a whole house humidifier (works in line with the furnace or something)?

looking to install one for my townhome, wondering what's a good brand. i've seen honeywell and lasko.

I have a whole house Lasko unit I bought at Sam's Club a couple years ago.... that is the last time I used it. Humidifiers are a big pain in the ass, you have to sanitise them every couple of days (or you are supposed to...) and you have to replace the filter every month or so. It's just too much of a pain in the arse...

We have an AprilAire unit, has worked fine since we got it about 5 years ago.

You mean there are houses with central heat and no humidifier? I have a General.

My house has one, it is unplugged and looks original. I don't think I would trust it.

yeah, problem is i don't know of an anandtech for home improvement products, so i'm fairly clueless as to what's a good one or a bad one.

I've had AprilAir in both of my homes. No complaints, works great.
