I am buying a 2007 Suzuki LTZ 400.

Any tips? Keep the shiny side up?

http://www.suzukicycles.com/Pr...0Z400/2007/LTZ400.aspx

Actual pic, before and after I ran it for 3 hours:

Before:

After:
http://ihadav8.com/gallery/album02/DSC00260sm?full=1

This thing is FAST. A customer/friend of mine is selling it to me for $2800.00, about $500.00 less than the going rates on Ebay/Craigslist/Etc.

Went to a KILLER ATV park about 45 minutes north of Tampa - Croom. It's $65.00 per YEAR to use this 50 sq mile ATV/Motocross park. Unbelievable.

http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gwt...s/with_croom_motor.htm

I need to get some nerf bars, a helmet (I borrowed one for that ride), apparel, etc.

Anyone wanna buy my Yamaha GP760 WaveRunner? grin

I have a real ATV myself, a Yamaha Grizzly 700.

It takes a backseat to my real motorsports hobby though - Snowmobiling.

No. Seriously.Anyone wanna buy my Yamaha GP760 WaveRunner? grin

Boots are one of my first purchases - along with nerf bars, helmet, good set of goggle, etc.

The LTZ 400 isn't a "real" ATV?

Hillbilly from NC checking in. We have almost as many quads here as pickup trucks. Around here they work as hard as play. :)

Don't listen to the big bore guys or 4WD only guys. They're just compensating for something small. ;)

One of my favorites is the Honda Recon 250ES. I've had that thing in many places that have the 4x4's wondering.

For real pulling and work around the ranch nothing beats the Arctic Cat Super Duty Diesel! Sounds like a tank coming through the woods! :D

Three hours and you only got that muddy? Shame on you! :p Depends on the trails. We have lots of clay around here and the mud is heavy and thick. Great for sliding in 3rd with the handlebars a full 45 degrees! This time of the year one can do that all day long.

Get a decent pressure washer with a 30 degree nozzle and you'll be squeaky clean in no time flat. Don't let the mud dry too long especially around moving parts.

In FL I'd be terrified of running across a gator in those swamp holes. :Q

I'd love to be in the snowbelt. Probably have a snowmobile too.

I've seen your pic (from JonnyGURU's forms initially), and the mixture of geekness and get 'er done really does it for me. I will leave it at that. :p

I was the only one seeking the mud puddles, and even though it was my first time, I think I kicked ass. Stalled it a lot, but overall kept up with the trail rats I went with, I have seen your ATV shenanigans with your brother's PC parts. High-larious!

My buddy that I will be riding with the most has a Grizzly 350. I don't plan on mud-bogging much, so, in my climate, I don't think a 4x4 is essential.

So you think if I installed a Linux-PC on the ATV I would get more responses? YukYukYUk

As long as you have 4GB RAM and a SSD. Post using a 3G card would be a bonus! My brother is pestering me about what OS to install on his notebook. He wants to install Server 2008 R2 DATACENTER edition. On a LAPTOP! hehehehehe

I tried taking video of dragging an old microwave oven around the trails. It was a GE model from '82 and HEAVY since it was made in the good ole US of A. Videos don't turn out at all because the rear cargo rack vibrates too much. I used a Canon HF11 mounted rigidly through the flag pole attachment point. Pity too because that oven got some serious air time when it started tumbling then got hung up on a tree and the hook ripped out.

We started with the handle and it broke on the first turn. Grabbed on to the metal piece that only allows the door to open so far. That worked pretty well until the oven got hung up on a bridge. It went clunk and the door came off!

Then I got mad because there was no place for the hook. A few pries with a shovel fixed that and allowed the hook to catch the chassis. That thing went flying around big time until it hit a tree as noted earlier. The hole was too big and the hook kept coming out. Off to the junk pile it goes.

We have a toilet that needs replacing and my brother has dibs on that. He can route the tow line through the bowl and out the bottom! Yuck!

The tank will probably come off right away. That porcelain bowl won't last two seconds on the rough trail but there's plenty of places it can be dragged.

We also dragged an old P4 Compaq server around and ran over it a few times with the big Cat. Surprisingly the CPU was still firmly attached to the socket and probably works! I don't have any 478 systems to test it but nobody uses that junk anymore.

2 late I'm taken. ;)

Too much shake :(

But we're working on it. There's another guy that drags stuff and his videos are OK but he needs to drag a REAL microwave like this one.

The scene in the Dukes of Hazzard movie with Boss Hogg's safe reminded me of this. A bungee cord would be fun but if it got stuck and let loose getting hit with a 60 pound box would suck.

Damn. I will soon have an LTZ400, I have the Waverunner 760GP, AND an 87 Turbo Regal. What will it take to get your heart? Haha. I can't WAIT until we can go out again, this time, as an owner of a bad ass ATV!

I like Mopars! :D

Now if you had a Grand National... ;)

Oh and one other thing...

If mud smells like shit, it probably is! Bad thing about farm land you know? :Q

I figured I was on Jonny's shit list after I badmouthed those new BFG PSU's but damn they were just bad! I'm not brand loyal at all. If Intel's next CPU is a piece of shit well then so be it!

Mopar.. <gross>

Well, Performance-wise, I do own a "Grand National". That's just an appearance package. Unless you are talking GNX, A Turbo Regal and a Grand National are mechanically the same.

I do like the NEW Chargers.

Mopar 4ever. At least you didn't mention the F word. Although I gotta say I did have a truck with a 40 over 460 and it was strong as a bull. A heard of 'em. And of course a Ford 9 inch rear is cheap and strong...

Old charger with 273 commando! Impossible to drive in the rain with a stall converter but quite snappy and outrageous today. Screw the tree huggers with their battery powered rides with a lawnmower engine charging them up! :p

Yes GNX TT 231. I saw a turbo regal that was not stock it had a V8 268CID?

There was never a stock TR That had anything but a Turbo V6. Ever ridden in one? Shocking the power that can be made from 6 cylinders, 268 CI? Never heard of that displacement,

Are you just starting out? Yeah a 400 might be a little too quick for you in the turns. I started out on a 90. :Q

Graphics you know the badges and effects. A plain wrapper with the goods under the hood gets 'em every time. Turbo has the advantage too that it's silent at a stop unlike a blower.

Watch out for the timing belt blowing up on it. It will trash the motor if i'm remembering correctly on that bike.

I have a raptor 660 that was bored out to the new 700 specs on a rebuild, got off a guy for $2000. Also have a honda rancher 350es awd

Yes, the ride last weekend was the first time I had ridden, aside from putzing around someone's lawn on one. I think I can handle it.

OK. "Appearance package".

Well, mechanically, there's no difference between a regal with the turbo and a "Grand National", like you said, the GN is an appearance package. Now - the GNX is another story. It had a different rear suspension, ceramic impeller turbo, different intercooler, dash, gauges, etc. All turbo regals came with a 231ci turbo V6. There's stories floating out there about V8's, they don't exist, at least they didn't come from Buick that way.

And we can dust off a lot faster cars that TPI bricks. :)

Gotta hit some hills and trails especially after a rainstorm. That separates the kids real fast. ;)

Well the styling on those late 80's firebirds was good. Gale Banks took one to the extreme and shattered all kinds of records. Of course he's the king of the turbine. Cartech was good too.

I like the snap of the blown engine but you cannot hide it unless your buddies are deaf.

Oh and those 231 v6's were pretty decent in NA stock form.
