Any ATOT architect types?

Looking for some info from any architect types out there. I'm looking to remodel my house by having most of my garage and my rear wall torn down and having a 2 car garage with overhead room and extended the house several feet to the rear. Someone suggested I have an architect do a drawing plan before have any construction guys come out to give estimates. What am I looking at as far as time or price required to have that done?

it will vary greatly. your best bet is to find a Design-Build contractor, who will include the design as part of his proposal.
