Anyone have a problem with using the asus cool n' quiet overclocking software. So do I understand it right that it just monitors the CPU temperature and overclocks to maintain a safe temperature. How much did you gain as far as performance goes. I'm wondering wether or not to bother with it or not.

Cool & quiet is not an overclocking software, actualy it's the opposite.

Cool & quiet underclocks the cpu speed & voltage when the full power of the cpu is not needed.

Also, cool & quiet isn't an asus program, it is something built into the Athlon 64's and can be used on any board.

Well F**K that, I didn't upgrade to underclock my CPU, I mean I think I heard it refreshes CPU speed like every 2 seconds, so if you try to do something CPU intensive then your PC may lag for up to 2 seconds? I don't care that much about the heat, I don't OC anyway.

JBDan I have no Fing clue what you just meant by that.

srry was too quick to type. Cool and Quiet is just a feature that throttles your cpu according to load. It does not degrade performance when not overclocking. Just allows your cpu to run cooler and your HSF to run quieter hence C & Q.
