This post takes Wrong Forum! to a whole new level. :Q

Are you sure this is the appropriate place to be asking this? I'm sure Google could turn up some sites that focus specifically on this, with members that could give you expert guidance.

I used to go to the archery range on a regular basis; unfortunately it closed and there's really nowhere else around here to shoot. I applaud you for putting the arrows together yourself; I tried re-fletching a few of my own and it didn't work very well  Just for curiosity's sake, what do you shoot? My dad and I both have Browning compound bows; my dad also has an old wooden recurve - beautiful to look at, but a workout to shoot :p

sure. i love archery. I bow hunt every year.

fletching them is a pain. BUT well worth it.heck if you buy good arrows you HAVE to put the flights on yourself and cut them down to size.

It's better than asking questions about girls/relationship in a computer forum :D

in my experience, you don't want much of a twist on the fletching. so no, a spiral would be bad.
if you had a bow with the velocity of a gun then you might get away with a spiral. but with an arrow it is more of a stabilizing effect than a spinning effect that you are looking for. like the fins on a rocket.
