Any appliance techs here??? Dishwasher woes

I have a Jenn Air SS dishwasher that is giving me problems. A while back I had to change the touch pad out since some of the buttons were defective. Now this issue is that when the unit is turned on to clean, the gel pac/crystals fall out of the door prior to the washing cycle being completed. I know this because it is sitting on the bottom tray or you see it all over the dishes etc. What is causing this? It seems that the gel pacs are being released late the the washing cycle is out of whack. Thanks
