Any affordable high-def camcorders out there?

any thoughts on this? should i take the plunge and get a high def one are just stick with a regular camcorder?

I'd pay that if it's that good

It is going to be for a somewhat professional production..

But I guess this stuff is so new that I should stick with the old fashioned ones for now..

Well I guess I really don't need HD. But I still don't like all those amateurish looking MiniDV Camcorders.

Are there any good ones with a little bit of heft and quality to them that would be good for shooting my movie and commercials?
