Any advice on why my FTP server hates me?

I have this web site. www.magictrading.net.

Everything uploads fine. It's a good host. However, in every FTP client , except windows "ftp" I can't see any of my files. They're there! When in windows FTP, I can't see the files using "dir" but only using "ls." apparently something is wrong with my /bin/ls. Any ideas on how to fix this? I really like this host and don't want to leave it :(

It could be the directory, maybe when you use Windows FTP it's dumping the files in another dir?

Do you have AIM or MSN?

All Windows FTP clients should allow you to specify additional flags when executing an LS command.

It sounds like your files are marked hidden for some reason. To view all files, do a "ls -a" instead of just "ls".

What do you mean "marked hidden"? They'd all have to be renamed to start with '.'

Yeah I know, but I can't really figure out why else LS in one client works and not in the others. Not that there's a reason the command line FTP client Windows provides should automatically default to seeing hidden files either, but it's worth a shot...

Most FTP clients I've used have shown hidden files by default, anyway. I can only remember one client where I had to change the settings to see a .htaccess file.

Could this possibly be a PASV issue? Lots of Windows FTP clients are default PASV and some FTPs don't like PASV.

Just chatted with him, going to get him a REAL web hosting account, a FREE acct with 100MB/1GB after he registers his domain with namecheap.com

His current web host won't even let him change his password, he has to e-mail them :(

Yeah, it is lame, I won't complain though. The current set up I had was fast, free, bannerless, and had free domain reg. I'll be moving to a cheap yearly host recommended by RossMAN soon.
