any advice on removing the ihs off a core 2??

ok, so i know it's soldiered on. i just want to know if anyof you guys have done this with a soldiered one b4.

I plan on insrting 4 razorblades from each side, then place the chip upside down and heat it with a heatgun until the ihs falls off.

I know it's crazy, but it should be worth the 2-3 degrees LoL
 
What a dumb idea. I don't know why people would do that. Need more cooling, get a water rig. Better yet, get a vapo rig.
 
It is very difficult to do without damaging the core, with the newer Pentium4's and I doubt this had changed with Core2.
 
I know the risks I have seen the cores ripped off a few prescotts
I already have watercooling Phase is a lil much for me

If i did by some miracle get it off would the top of the chip stilll be above the retaining bracket??
