Any advice on keeping a fan quiet?

I have a PNY verto graphics card that has this really wierd fan with a distinct noise radiating from it, its almost like a dull hissing! Is there anything I can do myself to stop some of this noise?

well if you want it quiet, you can always unplug it. although a better solution would be to replace it

Buy a Zalman heatpipe, because they're fanless they'll won't make any noise.
