Use steam, iron on the seams for pants to make them sharp. Shirts I just lay out and do 1/4 at a time, then do the sleeves and the colar if needed.

always keep the iron moving, use a decent amount of force when moving over your clothes, use starch on the shirts, use tip of the iron and press hard if you want to get a strong crease.

oh, and it takes practice.

Wow. How do you not know how to iron a shirt and a pair of pants? Your parents never made you iron your own clothes?

Nope, I've never had a reason to iron before.

Then how did you get the job? You interview in shorts and sandals?

Make sure you CAN IRON whatever you iron first, and make sure the iron is not too hot. I really wish I had known this, my beige pants really looked better without the iron shaped burn mark on them. Oh yeah, and even if you think you're ok, try ironing a little in a not obvious spot just to make sure.

I use a spray bottle to spray a fine mist on mine first, take a showers with the clothes hanging in the bathroom, or use the steamer

If you can, take the clothes out of the dryer before they completly dry. Hang them on the hangers so they won't wrinkle too much.

Another trick is to hang the clothes on the hangers and put them in the bathroom. The moisture from the hotbath will take out a bunch of wrinkle.

Use starch. It works great for a sharp look. Dont get the really cheap kind cuz it will just cause burn marks. But get the medium priced stuff. And just spray a fine mist over the pants and the shirt. Then use steam and a setting that is not too high. Press firmly and move slowly, but not so slow as to burn clothes. If you have never ironed before, try it out on some tshirts or old pants first.
