Any advantage to using both onboard video and PCIe card?

Here's what I'm wondering..

I've got an onboard GeForce 6150, which is currently disabled in favor of my 7800GT.

I have two outputs. My 2007FPW (DVI) and a projector (component).

I use my PC for MCE and Gaming. Would there be any advantage to having BOTH the onboard 6150 and the 7800GT active? Using the 6150 for MCE and the 7800 for Gaming?

Or, better yet.. is what I'm asking even doable? /shrug

Will the motherboard BIOS even allow you to have both active at once? I would double check on that first.

There isn't any real advantage AFAIK unless you wanted to run more displays.

I dont think it's doable, but check the motherboard manual.

I still dont quite understand what you are trying to accomplish.

Yea, the motherboard/BIOS is capable of setting up a QuadView setup (provided the PCIe card is nVidia). I was just wondering if there was some other advantage unknown to me.

For reference, the motherboard is a MSI K8NGM2-FID.

I'm not trying to 'accomplish' anything.. just wondering if there was anything advantagous or what. More of a ponder than anything else, I guess..

Edit:
Supported Configurations by Onboard Video + Dual-Head PCI-Express Video Card

The following combinations are supported in QuadView mode:

* monitor (video card) + monitor (video card)+ digital monitor (onboard DVI) + analog monitor (onboard VGA)
* monitor (video card) + monitor (video card)+ digital monitor (onboard DVI) + TV (onboard TV out)

This is in marked contrast to Intel IGP solutions (Extreme Graphics 2, GMA 950 etc.) that don't allow concurrent use of internal graphics and external graphics.
