My mobo, in addition to the "Ultra" PCIe NVMe slot I boot from, has a SATA3 M.2 socket that shares a lane with one of the four SATA3 ports for cable. Any reason to choose it over standard, cabled SATA3? That is, do SATA3 M.2 drives offer any advantage over the previous generation of 2.5" SSDs? I currently am using that shared SATA3 lane with a Seagate Blue 500GB spinner I'd like to retire to bring my system a bit closer to the 21st century (graphics are next). Thanks!
