What's the difference in the element types cps4, cps4i, and cps4r?

the options are different

cps4 is standard formation

cps4r is reduced integration

cps4i has an option of incompatible modes.

Okay, that's what I thought, which leads to my next two questions.....what exactly is an incompatible mode? And why would reducing the number of integration points actually make my results more accurate?
