Any 4x512mb or 2x1gb DDR1 chips that I can run @1T with A64 X2 CPU?

Hi guys

Does anyone know if with the 4400+ X2 cpu it is possible on a S939 Nforce4 mobo to run 4x512 or 2x1gb @1T timing? I am planning to overclock slightly, nothing extreme, maybe 225-250fsb.

I was looking around and I notice that the new memory controller is able to run 4 sticks at 1T as long as they are "single sided". Well I am not sure which, if any, are single sided. I was looking at the Patriot PDC1G3200+XBLK since its TCCD and decent price from newegg.

Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Consider 4x512MB of doublesided RAM at that will do 2-2-2-2T. Why? Because the other timings combined outweigh the command rate, and the lower density chips on the 512MB DS sticks will allow tighter timings and should overclock a bit better as well. With either 2x1GB or 4x512MB SS, you get slower, looser, high-denisty chips. This Corsair whitepaper tests the effect of various timings on performance in a Venice system.

The X2 's memory controller is either exactly the same or very close to the one on the Venice, btw.

The only single-sided 512MB DIMMs I know of are these crucial sticks. The 8t in the part number tells you how many chips it has. There is also a 16t version of this RAM that is doublesided.

Please post your results, LuckMan. :) OCing with 2GB is still poorly charted territory. So far, I haven't seen anyone try four of the 8T sticks, and I'm very interested in how that's going to work.

i will definitely... getting my hands on the 4400 is proving difficult, I dont have any insider connections like some others around here... so I have to wait until July 6th like everyone else......
