Looking into getting a 24-incher. I've heard the new Dell LCDs have banding issues and whatnot. Am I better off going with a 2405fpw?
 
well i think the banding issue has been resolved for the most part with the second revision... but some graphic artists who obviously hold lcds to a much higher standard than most of us seem to have complaints still...

i just got mine today and havent run any calibration tests, but so far its a very beautiful screen, so i have no complaints

I was about to ask this question too - is this the final verdict? On HardOCP there is some talk of inferior component in performance and 1080i over DVI on the 2407.
 
Component input is really dark but banding no longer exists. To my knowledge it's just consistent gradation from being high contrast (not really any gradient compression). Nothing wrong with that.
