Any 16:9 widescreen Console/Computer Games available? Will the Gamecube or XBox support 16:9 TV's?

I'm considering buying a 16:9 HD RPTV, and am curious about game support. It would be nice to have games that will allow you to switch from 4:3 to a 16:9 widescreen aspect. Anyone know if the GameCube Or XBox show game support for this? How about computer games?

I'd think that the format would depend on the software. I know that both GameCube and Xbox support 480p, I think the Xbox supports higher but I'm not sure.

Even N64 and PSX supported widescreen mode. Like someone mentioned, it's the software. For the PS2. Madden 2002, NCAA 2002, GT3, FIFA, Triple Play Baseball...and maybe a few more.

someone earlier posted a pic of this very thing with DOA3 I believe. I don't know what system but they had a HDTV with mesmerizing graphics (must be a good camera taking the shot as well.) anybody see that it was something like "Don't you wish you were in this pic?" or something to that effect. I'll LQQK.

Yeah, someone said it already, X-Box and GameCube both support the format, but the X-Box doesn't have anything done yet, that can utilize a widescreen, but the GameCube has at least one already, which would be STAR WARS: ROGUE SQUADRON 2. I'm only a little bit excited. :)

I'd believe that except we saw a picture of DOA3 on a widescreen yesterday...

EDIT: pic

Yeah alot of games support widescreen.

But HDTV... well the Xbox supports it (PS2 and Gamecube too i think), but I wouldn't expect any games to use it.

yeah all 3 support it, hell even as someone said before the psx, n64 and dc supported it (just not as widely ahhahahahhaha, whew, pun intended). anyways one of the coolest things i have seen is a football game, madden i think. when you are behind your guys you can only see so many, but when you go to 16:9 you can see across the entire field. pretty 1337!
