any 12 inch G4 1 ghz powerbook owners?

i have been strongly considering getting one since i can get it through my school. it comes to a great price: 12 inch 1 ghz G4 powerbook + 10GB ipod + 3 year applecare for $1500. the reason i like the 12 incher is cuz it is under 5 pounds. honestly, i'm a PC guy but at i would only have $1200 to spend on a PC sense i would have to spend the extra $$$ on an ipod. anyone have any thoughts, experiances, etc...?

I have a 12" Sony 505bx but I doubt I would go to Mac just for a free Ipod. I know my keyboard is too tiny for constant use, but I have a desktop too.

I think you should be able to find a nice PC based laptop for around $1200 and still afford an Ipod. I think Fujitsu has one that is even a 13" screen and under 5lbs, and maybe Dell too. Then you would avoid having to buy Mac software.

i've an iBook and love it alot.... the 12" Powerbook is even better in terms of overall quality and features.

at that price, u r getting a really good deal.... the 1 Ghz 12" Powerbook has just been launched.... and it should be better than the 1st rev
12" Powerbook.

i would say go for it... sell the ipod.... then it would fit ur wallet pretty well.

Nice deal on the package. I had an 867Mhz 12" PB. It's a nice notebook but not practical for me. It's just way too "breakable."

I love my newly found 12inch powerbook (the new ones, 1ghz) ... I bought a nice streamlined cover for it (neoprene, slip cover with zipper) and it is slicker than snot... and I am not a mac person, but I do love it. It works like a dream. I would get it if I were you, as I did.

12" PowerBook has a "full-size" keyboard.

Mac OS X 10.3 Panther drops later this month. Apple has the Mac OS X Up-To-Date program if you buy now. Otherwise you can wait 2 weeks and get it with the PowerBook. Panther looks to be The One. 😀

do the 12" G4 1GHz powerbooks have the same problem with getting really hot? i've been thinking of getting one of these babies too.
