annoying little bastards... i've searched all over trying to figure out where they're coming from... i cant figure out what they're after, either. i saw one carrying a flake of dead skin, but that's it...


they're all over my desk... and i dont keep anything they'd want. i cant imagine why they'd be here. i have looked for trails in... none... looked for a nest in my room... none... so i cant figure this out. unless they came through the floor and under my desk... i dont know where they came from! i've never had ants in this room before, either!

i just dont get it! and this is pissing me off to no end!
 
oh... even though durspan is now illegal to sell in california, i got connections, durspan is all i use outside for killing ants 🙂 inside, however... durspan isnt so good because it can kill humans... easily.


i prefer boric acid (aq) mixed in with Karo.

cuts em into a nice jelly 😉
 
Dude, they're just cleaning up after you. They're a sign that maybe you need to focus on your cleanliness.
 
actually don't kill them in a bunch because your desk will smell like ass for a while...get some of that clear liquid ant killer that comes in a little bottle and pour it on an index card or something.

no, see, boric acid works as a poison, they carry it as food back to the nest and regurgitate it for the queen.


boric acid is little microscopic plates that work as tiny knives. remember the itchy and scratchy episode where the mouse starts hacking at the cat, the cat powders the mouse and breathes in the powder, and the mouse hacks the cat from the inside out? that's essentially what boric acid does.


only works on ants and insects, though. has no effect on us 🙂

Windex is fun for ants. It actually kills them easier than any commercial insecticide, but isn't marketed as such because its seen as "inhumane" to use it for that purpose. Try it out, you'll see what I mean.

windex is ammonia based... it isnt all that effective. i'd just use pure ammonia 😛 i got lots... gallons 😉

it's for glass cleaning... of course 😉 and floor cleaning... yeah 😛

It might not be that effective on windows, but on ant pile it's a whole different story...
 
trust me... ammonia, the pure stuff, will be MUCH more effective on ants.


the reason windex among glass cleaners is most effective is because of it's ammonia concentration. no others have as high an ammonia concentration.
 
I say this in every ant thread;

If you don't want them, quit feeding them. They wouldn't be there if there weren't things for them to eat.

They aren't dirty and nasty. They're doing you a favor by cleaning your messy room.

If there wasn't anything for them to eat, they wouldn't be there.

If they really are just scouts, and there is nothing for them to eat, they'll be gone in a couple of days.
