stop being a woman and kill the pests
you think a woman wouldn't kill ants?

I just meant it in a general sense since a woman is much more likely to either be afraid of dealing with them, or show unnecessary compassion for something stupid like this.
so you are calling the OP a woman? :p
its a little more pc than the other word i wanted to use :)

ooh will have to try this next time. i got this ant gel thing and they totally went away - the gel made them act like they were drunk and loopy. some would just hang out by the gel completely motionless.

I got all my ants hooked on a mini-oxygen bar that I built.

OP, grow a pair.

Kill yourself. Obviously the ants were there before you and deserve to live more than a human.

I love the way my preference for a non-violent solution gets characterised as a lack of balls.

Well, they are ANTS after all. There's probably thousands living in their nest. You killing some will most likely have zero impact on the world as a whole.

Just buy an ant bait thingy.

I know, you'll be killing some ants (oh, the horror!), but there are plenty of them where they came from.

They do start scurrying about frantically and run away when I approach and hover over them. Maybe they're trying to tell me something?

These are ants. This is not some wayward black bear rooting through your trash. You can't hit them with a tranquilizer dart and relocate them. If you don't kill them they will come back. Eventually they will take over your house.

Just kill them.

I'd like to think we can come to some kind of understanding.

Are you serious about this? What is your stance on abortion?

Given your IQ for statements made in this thread...you ought to be able to communicate with ants on their level quite well.

"Ohhh, look at me, look at me. I love animals sooooo much that I wouldn't even kill ants."

Solution: pour a big pile of sugar onto the floor in the middle of the room. As the ants arrive, start shoveling them into a little container.
Take the container for a ride. Relocate the ants to some very ant-friendly area - an area completely void of aardvarks.

I had a mouse infestation last winter, and I kinda felt bad about killing that first mouse. By the time I killed the 20th mouse, however, I wasn't feeling guilty at all anymore. They were filthy vermin, and deserved to die.

I must have done a good job, since I haven't seen a single mouse this winter. Either that, or my new cat is scaring them off.
