How's the fit, I think I remember reading(Awhile ago) that you had to shave off some of the feet to get a sneg fit, is this still true

lol yeah do that silly 😉 SocketA chips have their spacers. You want the bottom of your heatsink perfectly flat to fit a SocketA CPU.

For FC-PGA370 chips you need spacers, but you don't need or want them for a SocketA.
