I am looking for an Antivirus software that will not cost me an annual fee. Does it exist?
I had Avast but after 11 months they want an annual fee.

AFAIK Avast still has a free version.

Avira, AVG, BitDefender, and Panda also have free versions.

The free versions are only for 1 year. I had Avast but they now want the annual fee.

Just re-register for another year with Avast, you never have to pay for the free version,I also use Malwarebytes free version for backup manual scans.

Besides the options mentioned, if you don't mind rebates, Frys.com usually has a selection that are free (although you do have to pay sales tax). Just a heads up, many of the rebates are "upgrade" rebates so make sure you qualify first.

Current list:

If you got an email from avast here is what it says at the bottom of that email. Follow the instructions to renew your free license. I believe you will get the same email in 11 months.

Or, you can stay with your current, baseline free antivirus protection. In order to continue, simply re-register your software and you can use it free for another 12 months: receive automatic updates to both the software and your virus database.

How to register?

Open your avast! program via the desktop icon or Start menu

Click ‘Maintenance’ in the left pane and from the unfolded submenu select 'Registration'

Select ‘Register’ in the left menu

Click the ‘Register now’ button in the main white area

Select your option, fill in the form, and submit it

You are then protected for another year.

I run Avast Free myself. I renew the license code through the program once per year. Never any costs, unless you want the added features, like Firewall (there are a couple of others, but I do not use them)

Try herdProtect. It doesn't have active protection, but its on-demand scanning and removal capabilities are out of this world!
