Anyone have any recommendations?

Cost is a pretty big concern here, I need to try to keep it under $1k. We have probably 10 or so domains we are going to accept mail on, but probably only around 50 actual mailboxes.

I've read a couple of reviews about RAV anitvirus that were good, and have heard horror stories about Symantec/McAfee, and a couple of the other big obvious ones blowing up mailservers pretty good.

I really don't need a lot of functionality, as currently our sendmail server uses procmail, which just blocks attachments for the most part, and something like that would actually be enough.

Thanks in advance.

Scanmail from Trendmicro or Antigen from Sybari are usually considered the best. I've used Scanmail for years.

I've been using Symantec Antivirus and Filtering (thier latest) for Exchange 2000. It's been installed for about 6 months now and I have no complaints.
It not only scans for viruses, but it is a spam filter as well. It uses dictionaries and categories and catches most junk before it gets to the user's inbox. Easy to set up and administer. Administered via HTTP/HTTPS, so you can get to it from any machine with the right info/permissions.

Our Exchange server has about 100 mailboxes, and it doesnt appear to impact performance at all.
