AntiVirus Apps - Which to use besides Norton?

Hello all. After realizing how much of a proformance hog Norton is after programs get out of the "emulation lock," I'm really looking for something more lightweight, especially since most of the viruses I have to worry about are Macro viruses which really don't need such a heavy solution. Are there any anti-virus apps out there that are almost as good, but have a much lighter system footprint?

2k3. How often do you completly disable it? After putting it on my router (P3 933) after a fresh install, there was a very noteciable proformance drop. Not as noticable on my P4 2.4, but apparent.

Yes, its very light with mem usage. But it's also good for missing alot of known virii... Panda's never given me a problem - with both virii detection and system usage.

I use AVG antivirus by grisoft...its free, updated all the time, and not a horrible piece of software like norton...its small and doesnt waste resources
