I have to say a very cool movie, very techy as well. Man Tim Robins has so much cool stuff in that movie, and like the programmers get all this cool stuff as well. The movie is also good too, a few cool plot twists.
 
Sorry, I thought it was horrible. I even saw it after I promised myself I wouldn't.

I thought the plot and theme was predictable and tried too hard to portay current affairs with MS. They did however do a decent job with the computer lingo stuff, it may be the first time I've seen that in a computer related film.

oh, and the script! who wrote this junk?

Whiz kid: I have to type all these "IP address" in for these satellites. Quick start reading them from the first one down.
Super Evil Dude: I need to shut all these satellites down. Start reading them from the top down!
Whiz Kid: Oh no! They won't connect! He knows my every move...start from the bottom one!
Super Evil Dude: Wait he knows that I will be starting from the first one down...start from the bottom one up!
 
hehe ya the script wasn't amazing and it was very microsoft portrayal but i still thought it was pretty good. I don't prgram but the code look semi-real. Not like in Hackers (which I like also) where its so fake.

 
I think they could have done alot more with Hackers. It had all the potential, but then they put this crap flying around everywhere, and like swimming around in a main frame or something? But, I guess they had to make it appeal to everybody.

Haha, gotta love that All-3D OS. Instead of using the CPU power in that mainframe to actually do useful things, they gear it all towards rendering those pretty cubes 😛
 
No Null they wanna make it open source but they dont plan to make a lot of money off of it ...

I actually liked Hackers as a movie but the computer stuff it totally fake.

HAHA in the scene when they are checkin out Burn's labtop and they say, "Yo check out it this is so sweet its got a 28.8kbps modem". We laugh thinking how that was only 5 years ago. Look how far we have come.

I've never seen war games but ill check it out, everyone here seems to love it...

Well it was supposed to portray microsoft right. I mean they wouldn't even get the blocks to look right much less make it ever do anything USEFULL😉
 
Sneakers is a kickass movie...i was jsut about to add a vote for it till i saw yours Zenmervolt.

Hackers was cool just unrealistic as hell...

Guess i'm tied between wargames and sneakers when the chips are down tho...
 
hmm, they should make a movie by the nerds for the nerds, be much more interesting. I was actually surprised that Antitrust didn't stop and explain everything like they usually do in movies like that. They almost always explain the techy stuff some how during the plot so people with no real clue can follow it.
