Antitrust, the movie

I just saw this movie and it sucked. The most exciting part was when he was looking through his food to see if there were any sesame seeds that could kill him.

ROFL! seasame seeds... not poison beans...

I thought the movie was actually suprisingly well done. I just wished they'd have grounded it a BIT more. Sneakers, for example, was believable. This movie, of course, was not. But it was a fun ride. I'd give it a 7 outta 10.

Did it suck because you're one of those people who can't get over that they know more than the average Joe about computers and were angry that they don't portray hacking for what it really is, which is a lonely computer geek sitting in his bedroom in his boxers, eating potato chips, downing Mountain Dew and staring at a text screen?

This movie was entertaining... you're right, is no "Sneakers," but fun. You know what's weird? I have this on DVD (couldn't resist, on sale for like 5 bucks), and yet I never pop it in the DVD player... but whenever it's on Showtime or HBO or something, my gf always wants to watch it...

what's up with movies we get on dvd, but never watch... and then it's censored with commercials when it premiers on tv and we end up flipping to that channel?

As with most hacker movies (Hackers, Antitrust, the one with Travolta...) you can't portray hacking as being something exciting, because it isn't. It can be a long, boring process done on text screens. There aren't neat graphics. This doesn't make for interesting movie footage.

I can't remember much of Sneekers, but Wargames gave a fairly accurate portrayal of hacking, except for that voice synthesizer thing...

Hrmmm I watched antitrust and although i know it's nothing like what actually happens, that didn't stop me from liking it...

That movie was sooooooooooooooo far from believable. Stealing code via cameras? Come on! That was my biggest beef with the movie, atleast show something which is mildly believeable.

I'd give it a 6, though

Nope. I thought it was boring and predicatable. At least it had Rachel Leigh Cook in it. 🙂

one of the worst 'hacker' type movies ive ever seen, so far from reality....i like the orginal 'hackers' better 😉

"HACK TEH GIBSON!!1"

Enjoyed it the first time I saw it. Couldnt stand it when I tried to watch it again. Very little replay value I think.
