antifreeze on motherboard = cooler case?

i read on another board that pouring antifreeze on your mobo/cpu can help reduce case temperatures. is that true or is it pure stupidity?

"Trying to keep your case cool? Use Brake Clean to remove any compound on your heatsink and CPU core. Next pore about a 1/2 cup of antifreeze over the processor and board. If this results in loud noise you will need to oil your fans. I tried this and my cpu is now running 20C full load."

ok. brake cleaner on your CPU core isn't needed. rubbing alchohol works fine.

and "if this results in loud noise you need to oil your fans"?! sounds like a bad case of stupid to me.

The guy's pulling your leg about those things. Use the highest purity of isopropyl alcohol to clean your cpu and heatsink.

pure stupidity and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The problem in that thread is the HSF is not making good contact with the cpu. Don't ever pour antifreeze on your motherboard or any of your computer parts.
