Antibiotics and Thrush

Heard one can get Thrush(oral yeast) from using Antibiotics. Can all antibiotics cause thrush? I've read its mainly in ppl who take them for a long period of time. But how long is a long period of time(months)? Also is whats the best way to help prevent it while on antibiotics?

Anyone ever had this happen to them while on antibiotics?

My daughter had horrible thrush when she was a newborn... but I dunno about an adult on AB's

Try webmd.com

happened to my 22 year old sister no more than a month ago.
i have no idea how it got cleared up or how long she was taking them.
but its not just babies.

thats where I went. I couldnt find anything on it other than antibiotics can cause it. Doesnt say if its more common for long term doses or what.

If you take large doses of antibiotics, the bacteria that normally live in your mouth will be affected. They normally do a good job of preventing hostile infections (e.g. Thrush) and when they are killed off, strange sh!t can start growing in the warm, dark, moist incubator that you call your mouth.

Antibiotics are byproducts of fungai. They kill the good bacteria that keeps the bad bacteria and fungai in check, and also can contain minute amounts of spores from the fungus it was made from.

Thrust = yeast = fungus.
