I don't know, but if you're sick and really need to drink alcohol, maybe you should look into getting help for your disorder.

You'll be fine. In the last couple of years I've had three or four mates on antibiotics who were told not to drink, but they did and nothing bad happened. I think it's just a precautionary thing for doctors to say with any medication they give you. Exactly what antibiotic are you on?

Edit - I was told not to drink with the steroids (Prednisone) I'm taking but I did and nothing happened. Just precautionary methinks.

Just remember that alcohol depresses your immune system, so it might add a day or two to your total recovery time.

Don't worry, drink to your hearts content. Alcohol consumption on dicloxacillin isn't harmful in my experience, especially if you're near the end of your treatment cycle.

If you cant stay away from booze while taking medication then I think you have more than one problem.

That might not be the best thing for your liver but I'm sure if you keep it to a decently low amount of alcohol the damage can be minimized.

On ATOT, personal experience trumps modern medicine!

Do a search. There was a thread a month or so ago that discussed this. There were some replies from some very knowledgeable people.

If I remember correctly, it depends on the antibiotic.

No. The reason you take the antibiotics after you get better is to kill ALL of the bacteria, otherwise you'll be left with the most resistant ones.

Relevant stuff.
A doctor or pharmacist would probably be the source to go to for this. ATOT isn't exactly the best source for accurate medical advice.
