I'm getting the following error when I try to use AA in UT and Max Payne:

Error - Setfullscreen - creating the device failed : D3DERR_INVALIDCALL

I'm using the 23.10 drivers, I think it did the same thing with the 23.11's. Should I keep trying more drivers or does someone have a better suggestion? Thanks

What resolution are you trying to do AA in? What card? Geforce 2, Geforce 3? Did you try a lower resolution? I know the UT engine has some problems with higher resolutions and since the Geforce 2's use supersampling, it may be trying to render at a higher resolution than the UT engine can handle (just my guess). Try it at 640x480 or even 512x384 if you have that option. Also, are you trying to do this in DX or OpenGL?

Thanks for the help. I lowered the resolution in Max Payne and it worked. It will work at all resolutions except 1600x1200x32. And now UT is working at 1600x1200x32 for some reason. Does anyone know what AA setting I should be able to play smoothly in an average UT match with my setup at 1600x1200x32? Thanks again

What's yer system spec? With a Geforce 3 Ti500 and an AthlonXP 1.6GHz or P4 Northwood 2.2GHz and lots of memory, you should be able to run it at that with 4x multisampling AA (or 4x supersampling if you're using a Radeon 8500) with decent framerates (50-70 I think). Why do you need it at that high resolution? 1280x1024 with 4x AA would look superb, plus give you faster framerates.
