Base Guards Can Shoot To Kill Protesters
Activists Have Announced Plans To Trespass

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Guards at Vandenberg Air Force Base can shoot to kill if antiwar demonstrators get in.

Officials at the California base revealed Friday that military police have always been allowed to use deadly force if they deem it necessary to protect the base and its residents.

A spokeswoman says it's important that people understand that policy in the post-9/11 world. She says, "This is not fun and games anymore."


Some antiwar activists have announced plans to trespass in hopes of disrupting work and vandalizing equipment thought to help the war effort.

A spokesman for the activists says they're not deterred, and the base's policy underlines the risks nonviolent protesters are willing to take.

I agree. Have you seen some of these people? They are freaks. They paint their faces and go do dances in the street and pretend they are dead. Looks like they are all high on crack!

Many a person is protesting who doesn't know the whole picture. Saddam has been in power for almost 30 years. We know the tip of the iceburg for what he has done. How many examples do you need to realize that he is beyond horrible. Fidel might be bad, but he's not stupid or nuts. Saddam is scary and if the world wants to continue enjoying suicide bombers (who he supports), prospects of biological and chemical warfare and a safehaven for people who don't care who they kill or hurt, then by all means we'll leave Saddam and Iraq in power.

These protestors have diluted dreams of grandeur for achieving what the Vietnam-era protestors achieved. This conflict is totally different, and the people are too stupid to realize it...

What's funny about it to me is that this is probably the most viable war effort we've had in a long time when you look at it. We sat out while Hitler was being a douch gaining power, while hard to compare sadam to him, they do share the same "threat to everyone" trait. We're best off not letting history repeat itself.
