Those stupid anti war protestors! I think it would be funny if they all died! Even more entertainment for me. 🙂
Yes; it would be great for them to all die, as they are excercising their right to freedom of speech, and that is not protected by our constitution in situations in which you disagree with them.

Hypocrite beyond all definition of the word

If this moron wants to put a sign out on his lawn against the war, I respect his feelings.

If he wants to commit a dangerous act and take away the attention of our police, emergency units and possibly cause danger to drivers on the Golden Gate bridge, then that guy is no longer exercising his freedom of speach but commiting a crime. If he hadn't died, I would have liked to see him go jail for a long time. We need our police and rescue units free in case of real terror. Especially during a time of war. They should not be watching over crazy idiotic protestors.

The sad thing is that the guy survived the fall. He died either on the way to the hospital or at the hospital. I forget which one. So he very well knows probably that his stunt killed himself.

If protestors break the law, they break the law and they get arrested.

If they don't, they're excercising their liberties. That is all their is to it. There is no reason for this discussion.

I think it's funny that the casualties for the Anti-war protesting roughly equal that of the American troops currently in Iraq.

I'm sad for his family and those who see him as beneath them.

yeah, it's sad that people can mock someone's death, just because he disagreed with them. There's a book I read once, about fascism and bigotry and stuff.. I forget now, I forget a lot of stuff, better to just forget.

So true. Once we dehumanize another, we open the door to unspeakable atrocities.

Iraq War Protester Dies in Golden Gate Bridge Fall

Reuters
Wednesday, March 19, 2003; 4:25 PM

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A man protesting the looming U.S. war on Iraq fell to his death from San Francisco's famed Golden Gate Bridge on Wednesday as he was hanging a banner, officials said.

"He appears to have been hanging a banner of some kind," said California Highway Patrol officer Timothy Willock. "We're not sure if he decided to jump or slipped while he was, you know, hanging the banner. That's unclear right now."

Anti-war sentiment is strong in the San Francisco Bay Area but the death of the man in his 30s was the first related to the latest protests over the U.S.-led war against Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.

Thanks, what a dumbass. Maybe he should be worring about his own safety instead of Saddams.
With all the extra security, how did he get that far?

He was probably shot down by the National guard.

No, he is a dumbass for going where he wasn't supposed to. He is an even bigger dumbass for not taking any safety precautions.

Something wierd is going on here.

I am in the bay area and as I was driving to school, they reported that a protester had commited suicide for the anti-war cause. This was after I read this thread last night, so now I'm confused. Either the local media is putting a spin on this story or the national news agencies are.

They mentioned that the police tried to coax him down for over 30 minutes, before jumping.

Hmmm...interesting.
