Kaspersky definetly a good choice. Would like to see Bitdefender 8 Professional Plus in the round up.

There is no best, only opinions. If you want my opinion it's one of the freeware versions of Panda Platinum 7 or AntiVir.

Check the URL KoolDrew provided for some excellent info.

I'm currently using AVG, seems to work fine.

And they got rid of that whole registration process. It now automatically assigns a key.

I'm getting a little tired of AVG. It seems to do pretty good except for the Email Scanner part of it has some issues on my pc. SOmetimes the little Email Scan pop-up box will just stay on my desktop appearing to be scanning long after I close Outlook. Sometimes while it is scanning, it appears to "bog" my pop conneciton down or something because I can see outlook pause on 75% completed for a good minute or so. Of course maybe that's waht it should be doing but it didn't do that from the start. Been contemplating uninstalling and reinstalling but if any of the above mentioned ones are worthy I may give them a try. Do they all do email scanning, automatic updates, schedules?

The best software hasn't been invented yet.

For something free, go with AVG or Antivir.

For something purchased, go with Eset NOD32 or Kasperksy.

I dropped Norton and tried AntiVir. WTF, the site is down more than it is up! Good luck with your update protection. Have to ask what good is something like this?
