you could just shut off the antivirus when you run the game - as long as you are protected by and configured your firewall properly. (keep that one running 24/7

Guys I'm using Nortons AntiVirus, do you thing having any AntiVirus at all would cause any hit what so ever in gaming.

I know it uses resource but I don't think it would be so much that it could disrupt a game while you are playing.

Whay do you think?

If you have a router, you don't need a firewall. If you don't then keep the firwall running.

Nod32 uses the least system resources of all the popular programs. I still turn it off if I'm running a demanding game.

Not strictly true - you might want a local firewall to control outgoing traffic and stop malware infections from spreading within a network.

You mind as well uninstall it, norton antivirus is beyond garbage, it used to be good back around 1998 but after being infected with viruses WHILE having norton completely updated and running, it's just not worth it. If you want a good antivirus, get kaspersky, problem is it IS resource intensive though I've haven't really experienced an issue while playing games. If you're playing games, I'd just disable it, and reenable it when your 'gaming session' is over.
