We been licensing McAfee NAI Total Virus Defense and it seem like their product requires a lot of patches or fixs just to make it work.. Tech support isn't very supportive.

Problems I have encounter..
1. 32 Meg install files, like those cs1003.exe update, if it's store on a server, a client is trying to access it, the server hangs while trying to scan and it gives a unable to scan error and dies, and it'll hang the work station for a while.

2. Upgrade DAT works but not Ugrade service packs, it always fails and I would have to manually install it.

3. Exchange 2000 scanner sux, if you have auto update on and you haven't upgrade the scan engine, it would lock and block all message

Looking for fast solution for back end and front end

Windows 2000/XP support, minor WinME is okay

NAV Corporate Edition seems to work as a corporate client install (i.e. you need to have it running on a server) and the clients will prolly update from it. It will also work standalone for folks that say work remotely or telecommute, etc. Seems fine once you get through the setup stuff.

BTW.... why would you want an antivirus package on your SQL server?

If there are no file shares on the SQL Server, and your admins are reasonably intelligent, that machine oughta be pretty safe from viruses, and I'd hate to think of the performance hit that SQL would take because of AV.
