My deodorant/anti perspirant doesn't stop the armpit sweat... it/I don't smell... I just don't like having sweat stains/sweaty pits.

suggestions? I switched brands (from red zone whatever to degree for men..) with no luck.

Certain Dri is a higher strength anti-persperant. Otherwise, you could get a prescription from your doctor for something even stronger than that, if you're having really bad problems. Certain Dri takes care of it for me, though.

I believe aluminum sulphide helps against sweating.. It was aluminum something, anyway. Ask your doctor for it :).

just normally.. I get a little backsweat and armsweat.. I'm not overweight either.. I dunno. It started when I began eating correctly - I think since my metabolism kicked back up it makes me sweat more. An undershirt makes the minor backsweat unnoticable, but my armpits can get noticable after awhile even if I'm just sitting at my desk. I can make a point to sit where there's more airflow to my arms and it goes away though

that really isnt normal. if you arent overweight then something else is wrong. also, using deodorant with high amounts of aluminum could end up being dangerous in the long run. i think its a bad idea since you will definitely absorb some of it. it has been suggested it causes alzheimers and im not going to take a chance with that.

ok.. I talked to my dr about it last time, and it's not an extreme amount, he said basically some people sweat more than others, a lot of the time your body gets 'used' to your normal anti perspirant and to try switching brands

I have been using something called Drysol (Which is by rx only) HOWEVER, it is teh very best at stoping sweat anytime from anything. It is wonderful. I started using it when i did theatre (as lights and the like can get someone sweating before even moving) and i have not stopped using it on occasion. If i am on vacation in a hot climate, i will use it. Or if i have an important meeting to go to, etc.

I have also tried Certain-Dri but it does not work nearly as well as the Drysol and i feel it is the same as regular deodorant/anti-perspirant.
Also, a trick I learned was to dry yourself off TOTALLY from a shower before putting any deodorant on. wait a few minutes before you apply it. If you are still wet when you apply, it will not work as well nor will it last as long.

I'm going to second the recommendation of CertainDri. It is non-prescription and I use it. I used to have hyperhydrosis and would just sit at my desk with dripping armpits ... no exertion necessary. Naturally, it was uncomfortable and I got tired of ruining all my shirts so I picked up CertainDri, having heard about it here at ATOT. It took a few applications but now I never have wet pits and no longer destroy my shirts. And you don't have to use the stuff everyday. So buy today ... and stop being so gross! :p

I have the same problem, it started when I was about 13 or so. I finally got a prescription for Drysol and it takes care of that problem asap. You can get it off ebay without prescription for about 20 bucks. I use it two days in a row and don't use it again for a month or so. you could run a marathon and not sweat under your arms with this stuff.

It's also rumored to cause cancer though there's conflicting info out.

I specifically buy deodorant without antiperspirant. I don't sweat that much, and I don't like the fact that antiperspirant discolors my clothes.

I use Maxim. I tried Drysol and it made my under arms itch and burn like crazy. My under arms would literally drip while sitting there doing nothing. It was horrible. I tried Maxim and it worked great. It took a few days of application to completely stop the sweating but it did stop. I use it about once a month now and it I have no underarm sweat at all.

I have no affiliation with the company I just am a very happy customer.

It has also been suggested that there is a god. There is however no scientific evidence to support either theory ;)

Get some certain dri from walgreens, it works great.

If it is really bad, just clip the nerves which activate sweating in that dermazone.
