newsflash
I was shopping for another refurb motherboard on Newegg in wee hours this morning and saw at least a hundred
MSI motherboards in the refurbs...9-10 different models spent alot of time researching them and asking opinions in irc etc. ...started shopping coolers for a while got tired and went to sleep and now NEWEGG HAS NO REFUBISHISHED MOTHERBOARDS.
(8 hours later)

I called them and got no help.

apparently you'll be paying full price for them now..

kinda sux they couldnt wait until i orderd my ONE little board.

apologies if this isnt topic appropriate.

Looks like they cleaned house on most of their refurb products...who knows, maybe they're actually testing em now?

More likely they are finally going to test them! Which will be good for everyone.

I'm in the same situation - was just about to purchase one of their refurb's, and then they all disappeared :(
Oh well, time to go elsewhere.

I got a refurb abit BG7 from newegg a couple weeks ago for $88 and free shipping cant beat that. Thats like $45 cheaper than new and it came with audio out bracket just no 5 cent IDE cables. Its been running strong since then :)

Interesting. I was on there last night and they listed two new MSI KT333 mobos. A KT3Ultra2 and -R version that looked perfect. It said they were due in today, and now they aren't on their list at all. Both new and refurb, the MSI mobos are disappearing!

Hm... I have a feeling a reseller is gobbling them up cheap, testing them, and then RMA'ing the ones that don't work. It still works out well because most of their refurbs are people who can't figure out how to install the motherboards or have a conflict elsewhere and blamed it on the mobo.

I guess for a reseller, this is cheaper than buying them new from their distributors, which requires much more hassel for RMA'ing than newegg. Win-Win situation.

that would agree with what i heard in #athlon on efnet. someone there responded to my asking "does anyone in here work for Newegg?" I didnt mention it before because i take EVERYTHING i hear in IRC with a grain of salt. But if if someone from Neweg was in the channel when i was aking around about certain boards and bragging about the one i already got perhaps it had some bearing
today. He stated that a particular company bought them all.
