Anti-cs banning!!!!!!!

I was banned Saturday evening and I have no idea why. I have never cheated nor have I downloaded any cheats. I disconnected after an hour or so of gameplay and when I went to return to a server I play frequently on, bam... you have been banned till 7-20-2008........

I have supported VAC because it really has made a difference with the cheaters but this has me concerned. There are no warnings and no discussion. Just an arbitrary ban. I'll look into getting unbanned but I won't hold my breath.

As far as the topic of this discussion, I agreed with him up until the part where he claims cheaters have a right to cheat. (he seems to be referring to public servers.)
 
We have the right to choose the way we play. No doubt, some people like to play with hacker(cheater). However, I do understand that other people don't. But it is the hackers' right to cheat during the gameplay.

If you are banned by VAC (valve anti cheat) and you weren't using cheats.. those bans are usually reversed within a couple of days with Valve knowing if there were false detections.

However, your quote I posted above, I believe is wrong. Yes you paid for the game... but you did not pay for the right to do whatever you want with it. If people like using hacks, Valve even game them an option to use them. They're called unsecure servers.. servets without anti cheat protection.

Cheating in an online game is a disease. Its a deterrent to people who are thinking of buying the game... that's why the anti cheat was put in place.

Well this guy agrees with you, but he got banned for no reason.

My CD Key got banned for 5 years too, and I haven't cheated either.
 
There is no way you can have the VAC system working against you unless you have some form of hacks and cheats installed on your computer.

Losers can do whatever they want, whether it be h4xing, or cheating.

But so can server admins and valve.

Tired of getting banned? stop cheating. You'll usually end up getting banned anyways.

And not all servers use VAC. Go play on the servers that don't. The servers that do do not want h4x0rs.

This is incorrect. Even Valve admits their software creates "false positives" on occasion.
