Hi,

I just installed an Antech True Power 380 power supply. My old one was a generic, and I was also upgrading a few other components so I ran Sisoft Sandra to check everything out once it was finished.

The "Power / Aux Temperature" reported 66.5c. Not sure exactly what this measures...

Is that normal? I would have expected a lower temperature... what would cause it to run so hot? Anything I can do about it? Defective unit?

My system is a P4 2.66 w/1024 Corsair 3200 CAS2 RAM, ATI 9700 Pro, 2 IDE HDs, 1 CDRW.

I didnt know the Truepowers had temp sensors in them. Unplug the Truepowers RPM sensor wire and see if that temps still shows up. Are you sure that that isnt your CPU temp? It is possible that is just junk data as well.

They might not have a sensor -- I'm not familiar with the Sandra tests though so I initially took that reading to be accurate. Since then a few people have mentioned that sometimes Sandra gets pretty creative with the numbers she reports.

I'll try unplugged the sensor wire and see what happens...
