Antec Veris MX-1 HDD Enclosure

Why not purchase a high end fan and use your own resistor to lower the speed? I know that fan (from reviews) was always very loud and got dusty quickly.

Would anyone know if a fan can be purchased to replace the original fan?
I have no doubt that you could find a better quality fan but you'll have to get the fan's specs from somewhere and they're usually right on the fan's motor housing.

I also have an MX-1 with a failed fan. They should just sell the fans in 5 packs. Its a very odd fan. Good luck actually finding it somewhere.

Its a very thin blower style fan. If you look at the link above, you will see that a repacement would have to be of very exact dimensions to fit properly. I think some of the problem may be dust buildup that throws the fan out of balance and eventually kills it.

It was the best external case I have ever owned...for about a year. Then the fan started wobbling and making grinding noises. I finally just threw the thing in the closet where it still sits today.
