Antec TruePowerTrio 650W Power Supply $60 AR @ Frys.com

hmm... looks pretty tempting, but my 550w TPII is holding up fine for the time being.

Perhaps free shipping will add to the temptation - boohaahahaha!

This is a great deal for the money. Seasonic built, caps are more than adequate for the job. Mine is quiet under load and has rock solid rails, couldn't be happier....It's powering this rig:

Antec SOLO
DFI nF4 Ultra-D (sli mod)
X2 4400+ @ 2700 MHz (1.475v) Ultra-120
2 x 1 GB G.Skill GBZX
2 x 250 GB Seagate 7200.10 Raid 0
1 x 320 GB Seagate 7200.10
2 x Optical DVD writers
2 x 7900 GT CO's in sli
2 x 120 mm fans
2 x 80 mm fans
1 x floppy
1 x x-fi

Ouch...the lies of Antec...

A single rail is better IMO but still...lying about a product is just weak.

According to the review it's still a pretty good unit. 650W of Active PFC for $60 is pretty damn good. His review of the Seasonic M12 700W also found that the rails are different then advertised. (In that case only 2 rails when it's advertised as a quad rail.)

Too bad you are clueless. All multiple 12V rail PSUs are getting the 12V from the same source and splitting it and adding over-current protection on a per rail basis. None of the 12V rails are independently regulated. Hell most cheap PSUs dont even have independent regulation of the different 12/5/3.3v lines. This deal is certainly better than the NeoHE 550 (which I bought last week) mostly because it is more efficient, and quieter at higher loads.

Read the review and you'll see that all the 12v lines are on the same "rail" there is NO separation with over-current protection. After the reviewer some digging on that and another seasonic made PS... Turns out the separate rail claims were based on the original spec... which had to be scrapped as some pre-production video cards were pulling too much juice for the individual rails to handle. So they combined into one rail so the unit wouldn't have problems with a vieo card pulling too much current.

ok this is the start of my new build

should be able to power a quad core, dual vid, dual hdd 4 gig pc quite well hehe

edit: dang read that review, it appears to be a loud psu
i'll have to think about this a bit more hehe

I'm pretty sure the trio is quite a bit louder than the neohe at load, where it really counts. Plus, the neohe looks better, has modular cables, and was $10 cheaper.

i got mine today, it works, thats all I have to say about it.

Only worried that if the fan fails I won't know because its not mounted in the back.
