I recently installed an Antec Truepower 330W powersupply in my PC and was wondering if its normal for both fans in the unit itself to NOT be running at all, The manual mentions the fan RPM's being controlled by temprature but I havent noticed them come on at all even after being on for 2 days, the PSU itself is only warm to the touch but wanted to make sure this is Ok ,my pc case currently doesnt have a cover on it either (using a house fan for cooling, nice eh?) so maybe its just not getting hot enough? , Thanks in advance.

PC: P3 868mhz
512MB PC133
Asus CUBX mobo
Visiontek Geforce 3 64mb
SB Audigy
40gb & 60 gb HD's (both Maxtors)
Plextor 24x CDRW
Toshiba DVDROM

probably not getting hot if youve got the box open and a house fan on it
besides, running for two days doesnt necessarily cause something to get warmer, its more a load thing that would do that i think

if i see any more people cooling their pc's in such a manner, ill go buy a box fan and do it myself, prolly cost lest than the tt volcano 7+

hmmm, should have thought about that before i bought the volcano, damnit

I'd give Antec a holler if I was you. I've used dozens of TruePower PSUs and they've all had both fans running, right out of the box, stone-cold.

I've never actually used the TruePower series, are there power connectors for those 2 fans that need to be plugged into the MB (for monitoring purposes)?? If so, are yours plugged in? That would be my guess....

Thanks for the replies I emailed Antec and they responded (really fast to) saying it was defective afterall , I exchanged it for another (same model) , fans are running now =)

P.S. buleyb it does have a wire for monitoring fan speed but according to the manual it doesnt have to be connected for proper operation.
