I noticed Antec's new line of PSUs was announced about a month ago. Does anybody have information regarding when they will be available, and the specifications (12V amp ratings)? Searching returns nothing but the "Antec raises the bar for PC performance..." press releases. I was going to wait for their newest model, but it looks like I should avoid it...

Also, regarding the SLI/dual 12V rail PSU debate, while asking about some details of a Gigabyte motherboard, one of their responses contained this:

----------

The ATX12V 1.3/2.01 design specification makes no mention of spliting the 12V rail current; only increasing the current(Amp) on a single rail. I suggest using a power supply that follows the design spec. If you choose to use 12V split rail, you may be inadvertantly be a test group. BTW, amperage is not additive.

----------

I'm not sure if that adds any new info, but it seems like there's little official input from manufacturers regarding the issue.

The ATX12V 2.01 spec doesn't mention splitting, it does however mention having a second 12V rail. If you wanna call that splitting...

System components that use 12V are continuing to increase in power. In cases where
expected current requirements is greater than 18A a second 12 V rail should be made
available. ATX12V power supplies should be designed to accommodate these increased
+12 VDC currents.
