Antec True480: Voltage Question

arcenite

Lifer
Here are my average voltages as per MBM....

+3.3: 2.85
+5.00: 4.86
+12: 11.6
-12: -11.87
-5: -5.07

Now is it just me, or does my +3.3 seem way low? It's been like this ever since I got the PSU (atleast 6 mo) I have not had any stability problems, and am wondering if it's a big deal? Thanks.

It seems way low to me. Its way out of spec, but I'm not so sure MBM is accurate, you'd need a meter to be certain. If you don't have stability problems..its probably OK? My 480 trueblue just went out on the +12v rail after ~6 months use🙁

Your 3.3V seems way low, and your other rails seem pretty low (especially for a 480W). I'm running on a 430W Trueblue and here's my voltages:

avg:
+3.3: 3.24
+5.00: 4.95
+12: 11.83

min:
+3.3: 3.22
+5.00: 4.92
+12: 11.73

what kind of minimums are you getting? If your 3.3V goes anywhere near 2.6V I'd suggest an RMA/exchange. I had an Enermax that out of the box was doing voltages like yours (much worse on the 12V) - something like 2.75V/4.3V/10.8V . Needless to say, it was extroardinarily unstable and wouldn't even make it into Windows most of the time. I returned it the day after I got it without any hassles.

EDIT: You are fine. I just checked your rigs and saw that you are on an 8RDA+. I had the exact same board and the exact same situation - MBM5 registered about 2.5 or 2.7V on the 3.3V rail, and the board was rock stable. The 8RDA+ must have a faulty reader of the 3.3V rail or do something fishy.

So, I'd just look at your +5V and +12V on that board, and neither are anything to worry about.

Thank you very much 😀 😀 You made my day, despite the fact that my 9700 pro is a day late :-(
