Has anyone OCed with this power supply? I'm thinking of buying one but I need to know if it is a good PS for OCing, because my last power supply died when I tried to OC.

If anyone has any other experiences with this PS feel free to post :)

thanks

I don't have this PS but check out some reviews on Newegg and other places. It seems to be a very good power supply. Antec is well-known for having very stable rails and is among the top rated PS's on the market. I guess it would really depend on the specs of your system as to how much "juice" you'd need. Give us your system specs and I'm sure that someone here will gladly help you out. :) From what I've heard though, I wouldn't think you would have any problems overclocking with that power supply. :)

You should have NO problems overclocking. Looking at what Sid listed, his power needs would be much higher than yours. You should be set. :)

380 should be enough if ya only want 3 ghz :)

you may want to look into 430W if you want more juice! and doing some moddin' to get more volts!

i have an ic7 and used to get:

3.3 --> 3.16
5.0 --> 4.89
12.0 --> 11.61

now i get

3.5
5.2
12.11

:)

hey sid59, you have 4 hdds?

i have a very simmilar setup to yours, except i have barton 2500+ running at 2400mhz 1.75V, and 1X200gb hd, but i'm adding 3X10krpm (U160, 8mb of cache) atlas hds for a raid 5E array, IBM UW-2 (80mb/s /channel) 3 channel harware based scsi raid card with 64mb of ram. do you think that the psu will be able to hold all this running? does anyone?

that's a nice oc. prime stable?

yeah i have
1 x 200
1 x160
2 x 120s (gonna have to replace 1x120 with a 250 soon.)

im pretty sure that 380 is good enough .. if not get a nice quality brand 450

Shimmi, thanks for the link! I was thinking that maybe I needed to volt mod my True Power 480, since my 12v line usually stays around 11.85v, because of all of my fans, not to mention my OCing. Does anyone think that this is too close to 12.0 to worry about? I'd really like to have at least 12v on the 12v rail. Hmmm...

Mine (which came in my Sonata case) has been running my 2.6C@3.3GHz for months without so much as a hiccup.

Yes it works great, at least for AXP2500 to 3200 speeds.

I'd go with a Fortron Source 350W for $42 at Newegg. It's the same as the Sparkle Power unit reviewed here, outputs over 400W peak (more than the True Power 380), has the nice 120mm adjustable speed fan, and cost less.

I thought you yourself know everything?
In either case Intel specs are asking for +/- 5% which means 11.85 is more than fine. Even more stringent specs by antec, +/- 3% are satisfied.
